I am very happy to present before you the academic report of the 2009-10 year.
Babu Rajendra Prasad High school was established in1967. It was named after the first President of India, Sri Babu Rajendra Prasad. It is an aided institution. The first S.S.L.C Batch came out in the year 1970. It made its beginning in Samaj Mandhir Sabha Hall and later shifted to its new building. The school was started and managed by MAHAVEERA VIDYAVARDHAKA SANGHA.
In the absence of any modern facilities of the modern period as back as 1967, this school was founded by some eminent social workers and lovers of Education. During that time only one High school was in Moodbidri. That was Jain High School. Students were deprived of high school education. They had to walk to Karkal to get higher education. Therefore, this school was started mainly to safe guard the educational interests of socially and economically poor people of in and around Moodbidri. Here, admission is given on the basis of educational qualification. This school believes in social justice and it has been close to the hearts of in and around the people of Moodbidri. At present 372 students are studying (2010April-10).
Under the able president ship of C.K.Padival and dynamic Correspondent K.Vishwanatha Prabhu School is rapidly progressing. In the present year, management member Mr. Vittala Baliga was passed away.
At present 9 permanent teachers one S.D.C and on Computer teacher is working. Mr. Venkataramana Keregadde is our new Samskrita Teacher.
All national festivals were observed in the school’s campus to develop a sense of patriotism. Regular medical check up was conducted under the “Suvarna Arogya Programme.
School reopening programme was held 29-05-2009. C.K Padival was the president of the function .School correspondent Mr. K Vishwanath Prabhu, Old boys’ association secretary Mr. Ramnath Bhat, ex headmaster Mr. Bahaubali. M, the managing trustee of Sri Annapoorna temple, Kodyadka , Inner wheel office bearers, Old students’ association members-Mr. Prathiviraj Shetty, Mr. Girish Kumar, Mr. Sudhakar were present . Books were given to the students. Donor of books and part of girls’ toilet renovation cost, the managing trustee of Sri Annapoorna temple, Kodyadka was honoured.
School’s founders’ day was celebrated on 12-06-09. All the management members were present. Mr.C.K Padival was the president of the function. Mr. Ashok Pandit, teacher Canara High School Urva, Mr.Ravindra Pai , Old student of our school was Guests of honour. Two students, Anita and Parkas , highest scorer of S.S.L.C 2008-09 were given honored with golden medal of one pagan each. (8 gems each).
On 19-06-09 our school parliament and other clubs got inaugurated. Mr. C.K Padival was the president of the function and inaugurated the Clubs. He spoke on that occasion and highlighted the importance of the clubs in the school. K.R. Pandit was resource person and he gave information regarding the functioning of school Parliament.
J.C.I Thribhuvan and old boys association our school organized H.R.D programme for the year 2009-10 named “VIKASANA”. The Principle Mrs.Vanitha Shetty , (Alvas College of Naturopathy), inaugurated , the function. Other staff from that college was also present. They talked about the problems and solutions of adolescence. In the next programme Mr. Pavanjay Jain ex-military official shared his military experiences with students.
Our school library has as many as 10000 books. It satisfies knowledge thirst of our students.
Our school disbursed 218532-00 of rupees in the form of scholarships given by different sources.
Our poor children’s education fund helped many students in the form of fee concession, free books and uniform material.
Our management member Mr. Raviprasad Upadhya donated school micro phone system costing 25,000.
Our S.S.L.C result was 89%. Prakash got 553/625 and Anusha got 521/625.
Our students done exceptionally well in the departmental Prathiba Karangi competition .Many students represented district level competitions and Folk dance- Kangilu entered state level. One more dance item Kolata won second place in the state level competition.
Our students participated in Ganeshotsava competitions, L.I.C competitions, Vishwa Tulu Sammelana Competitions, Sharadotsava competitions, and won many prizes in Quiz, drawing, sports, and games.
On 2nd and 3rd of November our school in association with Education department organized Moodbidri zonal level sport in our ground. Mr. Abhaya chandra Jain,(M.L.A),Mr. Bhoja Kotian the President of Moodbidri town Municipality, B.E.O Mr. Chandrshekar, Ashwin Periera, Sucharith Shetty ( Member of S.K Zilla Panchayath), Advocate Manoj Shenoy, Mr. Raghuveer shenoy, Schools’ management President C.K Padival, Correspondent K. Vishwanath Prabhu and all the management members were present.
sIn the closing function Sri Thimmayya shetty, Mr. Abul Ala, Sri Girish Kumar, Sri Suresh Kumar were guests of the function.
